Six years ago, our founder had an idea stolen. Not by a stranger — by a trusted partner. No NDA, no timestamp, no proof. Just a conversation that turned into someone else's product. The legal system said: "Can you prove it was yours first?" He couldn't.
The patent system is built for corporations with legal budgets. Not for solo founders. Not for creators. Not for people who have a great idea over coffee and share it with the wrong person. We learned that when a dispute starts, the first practical question is: "What evidence do you have, and from when?"
icalledit.io is the answer to the question we couldn't answer six years ago. It creates permanent, independently verifiable proof that your idea existed at a specific moment in time. No lawyers. No waiting. It is not a patent and gives you no exclusive rights — it is dated evidence. Just write it down, and it's locked in time.
We keep the title and description you type, so you can re-download your certificate, and every access to them is written to an audit log. Files you attach in the Protect flow are hashed in your browser and are not uploaded. We take a mathematical fingerprint (SHA-256 hash) of your record and write it into a Bitcoin transaction. Only the hash goes on the blockchain — never your content. The blockchain is public and immutable: nobody, including us, can alter it.
